Independent Funeral Celebrant

Louisa Middleweek

Hello, I'm Louisa. I know you’ve come here at a difficult time, and so I hope that within these pages you will find the support and information you're looking for.

Please feel free to contact me so I can listen to your needs and answer any questions you may have. You’re also very welcome to take a look at the testimonials to hear from families I’ve been privileged to support.

A little bit about me . . .

I’ve always been fascinated by the uniqueness of every life and the stories that make each of us who we are. With a background in event planning and a deep love of writing, I spent time working within the care sector, providing end-of-life care and supporting people with learning disabilities and dementia. It’s been a real privilege to spend time with individuals and their families, listening, learning, and doing everything I can to ensure they felt understood and cared for. It was through those exeriences that I found myself on the Celebrant path.

I know that losing someone you love is deeply painful. It changes everything. And I also know that not all relationships are easy; sometimes our grief can be complicated and hard to put into words. I can support you in that moment too, creating a safe space for you as you navigate the loss of a loved one. I am a fully qualified integrative psychotherapeutic Counsellor, having studied a 3 year Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which allows me to bring an additional layer of insight and care when supporting families through such challenging times.

I believe that within loss, there’s also an opportunity to remember, to celebrate and to share the stories that made a life so special. My love of people and their stories, combined with my life experience, has led me to become a Funeral Celebrant. It’s an honour to help families create ceremonies that feel personal, heartfelt, and true to the person they love.

I completed my training with, and am a member of, the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants (FPC). The FPC is a self-regulated professional body which sets standards for best-practice and fosters professionalism in celebrancy.

I understand that during this time, it is important to feel that you are in safe and trustworthy hands, and I can assure you that I take this responsibility very seriously. I have an enhanced DBS check, specifically for working with vulnerable groups, and I am also fully insured. Professional standards are extremely important to me, which is why I undertake continuous professional development to ensure that my knowledge, skills, and practice remain up to date.

You are warmly invited to call me so we can discuss what matters most to you and your family.
